As I wait to hear back from the Department of Conservation's Natural Areas Science Manager and the Mountain Region Steward, I used the time to work on a slideshow for the Biodiversity Stewardship course I am taking in my Masters Degree Program of Natural Resources and the Environment at Virginia Tech. I chose from a list of topics and the topic "Organisms and the Environment" immediately stood out to me as something I wanted to speak to. I had so many thoughts swirling around my head about the definition of organisms, the definition of the environment, how they all interact with one another, etc. With the very well thought out suggestions from my instructor and some help getting my ideas out of my head and down on paper, I came up with what I am proud to call a presentation to any number of groups of folks that may not fully have grasped the organism and environment concepts. This slideshow presentation lays out the definitions and flows from one topic to another seamlessly to teach why caring for our earth's organisms and environments is so crucial. I hope you take a few minutes of your day to see what I created and if you learn anything at all from my efforts, then it was well worth the work!!!!
